Level 2 Digital and IT Skills

This programme is designed to help you move toward a Level 3 qualification, which can lead to advanced jobs or apprenticeships.

You can finish with a Level 2 qualification and get a skilled job at the end of the course but progressing to Level 3 will give you more career choices and improve your future earning potential. It also opens doors to further studies, like Higher Education and Higher or Degree Apprenticeships. These can lead you from advanced technician or supervisor roles at Level 3 to management or professional status as you continue studying.

To join this programme, you’ll need the equivalent of 4 GCSEs at grade 3, ideally including English and maths.

Assessment will take place through practical assignments, for which you will
be graded against unit criteria. There are a variety of assessment methods
including observations and professional discussion.

You can progress onto further study, such as a Level 3 course or Level 3
apprenticeship in computing.

You can also start your career in an entry level job in the industry, such as
Junior IT Technician, Junior Web Assistant, or IT Support Assistant.

There are no fees for this course if you are under 18.

Dedicated Work Experience opportunities will be supported by our Industry
Liaison Officer, who will find opportunities that are right for you. These will
give you key experiences ready for your future.

Throughout your studies, you will also take part in a variety on internal and
external events, working with staff, students and our dedicated industry
partners. These including an annual trip to Bletchley Park and the National
Museum of Computing for practical workshops.

We also benefit our community by taking part in social action projects which
help with development and skill progression, as well as making a difference
locally.

You will also have the chance to takepart in three university visits,
including University of Greenwich, University of Kent, and Canterbury Christ
Church University.
