My Experience of GCSE Maths

Rowven – Computing student

“Achieving a grade 5 today at Results Day has made all my hard work worth it.

“I applied to College and joined through Open Enrolment which meant I started slightly later than the other students. I was very against doing my Maths when I started for this reason, but my teachers encouraged me.

“I’m continuing I.T at the College now and it’s just such a relief to not worry about Maths ever again and focus on my future.

“I hated Maths in school and believed that I wouldn’t be good at it but here we are.

“Students joining need to remember that whilst working hard is important, it’s just as important to make it fun. I didn’t think I’d pass Maths, but it’s possible.

“I’ve grown throughout being here in terms of what I’ve picked up, as well as how the teachers have shaped me to achieve and to become the confident person I am. Everything does happen for a reason.”
