Our Travel and Tourism students are in the unique position to learn within our on-site plane simulation suite.
This space is used to practise safety briefings, role-play service scenarios and gain confidence in a realistic training environment. It has recently been upgraded with luxe first-class seats and a new PA system with sound effects, for an immersive study experience.
During your studies, you’ll have access to the replica aeroplane, a check-in area with metal detectors, safety demo kits, and an on-board PA system.
All of this equipment means you’ll develop clear, professional skills that airlines and passengers expect.
You’ll have the opportunity to take part in exciting, international trips, where you take part in unique work experiences to aid your career insights.
Previous trips include Lisbon and Tenerife, with students spending up to three weeks exploring the local culture and working in nearby business and travel environments.
Unique opportunites on our courses include learning vital sea survival skills with the Maritime Skills Academy and taking part in cabin crew training.
Other opportunities include industry visits and trips to locations such as Dover Castle and local hotels, museums and businesses, and guest speaker experiences.

Sacha Stedman, Programme Director for Travel and Tourism, has previously worked as a Holiday Rep, a Travel Agent, a Travel Consultant and a Customer Relations Executive.

“I like all the trips that we get to go on during the course. My favourite trip was when we went to the White Cliffs because we had the freedom to walk around and explore the nature there. We learnt about lots of nature and conservation. We also learnt about keeping people safe up there.
“It’s a hard course, but I think the more you do it, and if you just keep on top of the work, it gets really fun.”
