Celebrating success at EKC Dover College Awards Evening

27 June 2025
The 2025 Awards Evening celebrated the remarkable achievements at EKC Dover College.

Each year, EKC Dover College hosts a special awards evening to celebrate the incredible achievements of our students and staff.

This year’s event saw an enthusiastic turnout, with attendees eager to celebrate the accomplishments of the year.

Families were invited to join in the festivities, honouring the dedication, hard work, and personal milestones reached by our students.

The night was hosted by our 24/25 Students’ Union (SU) president, Rowven Sanyangore, who charmed the audience with his wit and joyous attitude.

College-wide categories included the prestigious ‘Most Innovative Student’, ‘Contribution to the Community’, and ‘Career Progression’ awards, and the coveted ‘Campus Principal’s Award’. Winners were presented with a trophy, certificate, and a gift voucher.

Winner of the Campus Principal’s Award, T Level Digital Support and Security student Jack Burwash, was recognised for his thirst for knowledge and eagerness to support fellow students both in class, and out of class in his role as class rep.

His determined attitude and passion for improving College life for fellow students was commended.

Jack exclaimed: “I was flabbergasted that I won the award. I was up against such magnificent competition. To be nominated is an honour and privilege on its own, but to of actually won the award is absolutely amazing! I was completely overwhelmed”

The attendees were treated to a live performance from Rowven, the SU president, and Christianah, who is an active part of the Students’ Union. Rowven played the keyboard while Christianah sung, the collaboration was beautiful.

When asked about the event Rowven commented: “I really enjoyed presenting awards tonight to fellow students. Not everyone gets the opportunity to do this; I was hosting, giving out awards and singing at one point, it was an amazing feeling.

“To the winners, congratulations and stay awesome!”
