Each year, EKC Dover College hosts a special awards evening to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students and staff.
This year’s event saw an enthusiastic turnout, with attendees eager to celebrate the accomplishments of the year.
Families were invited to join in the festivities, honouring the dedication, hard work, and personal milestones reached by our students. College-wide categories included the prestigious ‘Most Innovative Student’, ‘Contribution to the College Community’, and ‘Social Action’ awards, and the coveted ‘Principal’s Award’. Winners were presented with a trophy, certificate, and a gift voucher.
Winner of the Principal’s Award, Level 3 Motor Sport student, Harley Osbourne, was recognised for his hard work both in his course and in his role as Students’ Union President. Over the past academic year, Harley has been instrumental in many campus events such as the Freshers’ Fayre and College Pride, and has been a great ambassador for all students.
In tribute to Lynn Barr, a long-standing member of our Access to Higher Education team, the College introduced a special award in her name. The first ever Lynn Barr Award was presented to Access to Higher Education: Humanities and Social Sciences student, Amy Tyler, recognising her outstanding contributions in class and the progress that she has made since starting with us in September 2023.
With Lynn’s retirement this year, it was a fitting way to honour her significant impact on the EKC Dover College community. We wish Lynn a wonderful and fulfilling retirement.
We would like to thank Southern Water, Porchlight, Cactus Graphics, Louise Webb, Art Works, Lynn Barr, Eleanor Sherratt, Paul Owen and Kathryn Lammas for their roles in presenting these awards. We also want to thank the students and families who attended and supported this event. Congratulations to all our award recipients for their well-deserved recognition.
