Level 2 and T Level Computing students recently embarked on an exciting trip to Bletchley Park and the National Museum of Computing in Milton Keynes.

The visit provided students with a unique opportunity to learn about the pivotal role Bletchley Park played in World War II codebreaking efforts and its significance as the birthplace of modern computing.
During the trip, students took part in an interactive cipher challenge, where they had to break codes and even had the chance to use an authentic Enigma machine. They also attended a workshop using 1980’s BBC Acorn computers, programming their own version of the classic Snake game in BBC BASIC.

This hands-on experience was designed to complement their studies, aligning with the Level 2 unit on Cybersecurity and the T Level unit on Security and Testing.
The day was filled with history, innovation, and inspiration, leaving students with valuable insights into the evolution of computing and security.
