The Student Ambassador Programme at EKC Dover College offers a wealth of opportunities for personal growth, professional development, and making meaningful connections.
Student Ambassadors are selected students who represent EKC Dover College at events like Open Days, where they guide prospective students and their families around the campus.
They also assist with College and community events, building and strengthening meaningful connections within the community.
As a result of these activities, Ambassadors develop key skills such as communication, leadership, and confidence, which prepare them to engage with new people and excel in various professional and social settings once they finish College.
Joel, Kieran, Kaiden, Alfie, Jack and Evan have shared their experiences, highlighting what makes being an Ambassador at EKC Dover College so special.
Helping Other Students
“Being an Ambassador means you get the chance to support fellow students. If somebody is struggling with anything, they can come and ask someone that’s done it before.” – Kieran, [AD1] T Level Engineering (Design and Development)
Whether it’s guiding new students, assisting course mates, or offering advice, Ambassadors serve as a reliable, approachable source of help.
Giving Back to the College
“I like having the opportunity to contribute to the EKC Dover College Community. The College has give me so much so I wanted to give back to everyone else here.” – Joel, T Level Engineering (Design and Development)
This role allows students to show gratitude whilst making our College the supportive environment it is.
Filling Your Schedule with Purpose
“I wanted to help students and staff who need extra hands. I can help with their tasks and become a core part of the College. The Ambassador programme offers a fulfilling way to use my spare time between lessons.” – Kaiden, T Level Computing.
Supporting Events
“I play a key role, helping out at events and making sure people are safe within the community is something I really look forward to. I enjoy making sure everything runs smoothly and everyone has a good time. I have worked at Freshers Fayre and Student Awards.”
“You get an inside look at how events are set up and run, right from planning to execution. There’s a lot that goes into making them successful.”- Alfie, T Level Computing
Developing Skills and Confidence
The Ambassador programme provides an excellent platform to build confidence and improve a wide range of skills.
“I like talking to new people, including students and visitors. If you’re talking to the community, it increases your confidence and your ability to communicate effectively.” – Jack, T Level Computing
Evan, on the Level 3 in Art and Design, also highlighted the role offers practical experience that can be valuable for future careers:
“It helps out with feeling more confident when on work experience. If you want to support people in the future – this role gives you that foundation.”
The Ambassador programme is more than just a role – it’s an opportunity to grow, connect, and make a meaningful impact. Whether you’re looking to give back, gain experience, or simply get involved, the Student Ambassador programme is a fantastic choice.
